Step by step for international donations.

The website is not very foreign friendly, but, with a bit of patience, it's possible. Please don't give up here. You can use your translator if you need it. We need your help.

To donate using this website, please do the following:

• Click on the button that says: “Doe e concorra”.
• Click on “I'm a foreigner” on the top right.
• change the language to ENGLISH by clicking on the flag on the top left.
• Then, choose “credit card”.
• Write your email and click on the right button,
• A code will be sent to your email. Copy this code and paste it on the page. 
• You will be able to insert your credit card. 
• On phone number right many 1111111111 (They don't take international numbers and that's ok)
• Add a document number (driver's license, passport, etc). 
• You will be ready to donate.

As a reference:

100 BRL - Brazilian real = around 19,70 USD

500 BRL = around 98 USD

Hi! I’m Bruna, a Brazilian living in Japan. 

I grew up in Canoas, a city in the south of Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and later I moved to the capital city of Porto Alegre.

I am here to bring awareness to everyone outside Brazil that the worst flood my home state has ever seen is happening right now. 

And, hopefully, I can create a safe gateway for you to help. A place that will be safe for you to donate. 

Right now, 413 out of the 497 municipalities in my home state are affected by torrential rains and floods.

In comparison, my home state is almost as big as the whole country of Japan. Can you imagine almost 80% of the Japanese archipelago being underwater?

I know we hear about many tragedies around the world through the news and social media. We get used to it. Just scroll to the next.

There are too many. I know. 

But if you got this far, please continue to read.

So many of our cities are now underwater. 

The neighborhood I grew up in. 

The areas some of my aunts and uncles live. My own family house, friends' houses, and MANY OTHER FAMILIES outside my circle. More than 200,000 people have their houses underwater.

It's so much worse than what is being reported.

Most places are only reachable by boats since the water level submerged whole houses. 

It will take a long time for the water level to lower. 

And an even longer time to clean and rebuild. 

It's as if you lost everything you have and left home with only the clothes you were wearing. Imagine that. 

I can't do much from here. But I sure can help raise funds to help families.

I know it's hard to donate and not see if this money you worked hard to earn will get to the people who need it. 

You want to see action and provide some kind of relief to people. 

And so do I. 

So here I am raising money to make a difference in some people's lives. 

I know we can't fix everything, but bit by bit we can get a lot done. .

Olá! Me chamo Bruna e sou uma gaúcha que mora fora do país, no Japão. Canoas e Porto Alegre - cidades onde cresci e morei - e muitos outros municípios estão efetados pelas enchentes e chuvas.

Atualmente (8 de Maio), estes são os dados da defesa civil:

• Mais de 1 milhão de pessoas estão afetadas.
• Mais de 200,000 pessoas estão sem casa. 
• Desse número, 49,000 estão em abrigos. O restante em casas de amigos e familiares. 
• 413 municípios estão afetados. Temos 497 munícipios no total.
• 95 óbitos confirmados.
• 125 pessoas desaparecidas.

É o maior desastre que nosso estado já viu. 

Assim como minha família e amigos, milhares de pessoas tiveram que deixar suas casas às pressas, somente com a roupa do corpo e uma mochila, se conseguissem. 

Nada mais. 

Tudo o que eles têm, todas as memórias físicas e bens de uma vida inteira estão nesse momento submersas. 

Para termos comparação, a Italia é do mesmo tamanho do estado do Rio Grande do Sul.

 O Japão é apenas 1.3 vezes maior que o estado do Rio Grande do Sul.

É como se 80% do arquipélago japonês estivesse afetado.

O que será feito com sua doação?

Eu sei que doar dinheiro que você trabalhou duro para ganhar, sem saber para onde ele está indo, é difícil. Todos entendemos.

Mas se você leu até agora, por favor continue.

Doações para o governo irão demorar demais para chegar à população.

Por isso, decidi agir e enviar fundos diretamente para as pessoas de confiança que conheço, meus amigos mais próximos e familiares e que estão na linha de frente ajudando todos os dias.

Eles acordam, juntam as doações e vão de abrigo em abrigo vendo o que eles precisam. E recomeçam tudo de novo no dia seguinte.

Esse valor também irá diretamente para famílias que irão precisar. 

Quanto tempo irá levar?

Ainda é muito incerto quanto tempo levará para o nível de agua baixar e para que as pessoas possam começar a reconstruir. 

Essa segunda etapa será ainda mais longa e penosa.
