No dia 30 de outubro, JOEL DA SILVA sofreu um grave acidente caindo de uma altura de quatro metros da laje da sua casa, quebrando os dois pulsos, sendo que o pulso esquerdo foi o mais atingidos, bem como outras escoriações pelo corpo e testa salvando-se por um milagre.
Foi imediatamente socorrido na emergência do Hospital Geral de Nova Iguaçu ficando internado cinco dias; nesse ínterim contraiu COVID-19 ainda com os braços engessados, não podendo seguir o cronograma emergencial pois ficou internado no hospital São José, agora em Duque de Caxias, durante cinco dias.
Na reavaliação dos pulsos ficou constatado que o esquerdo, por ter sido engessado sem uma data marcada para a cirurgia, calcificou na posição errada e, agora, precisará fazer uma cirurgia por um cirurgião particular, pois há uma fila de espera muito grande pelo SUS e a operação precisa ser feita com urgência.
Joel trabalhava como motorista de turismo e está desempregado por causa da pandemia. Se não operar, não poderá mais dirigir. Os ossos rádio e ulna foram bem prejudicados e isso faz com que os nervos sejam atrofiados com o tempo.
De acordo com o orçamento, a cirurgia e o tratamento ficará por volta de R$ 30.000 e ele, desempregado, não tem como custear essa despesa; motivo para qual estamos fazendo essa “VAQUINHA”

On 30th October, JOEL DA SILVA suffered a serious accident falling from the slab of his house, four meters high, breaking both wrists. The left wrist was the most serious affected. He also had other bruises on the body and head, being saved for a miracle.
He was rescued in the emergency of the Hospital Geral de Nova Iguaçu where he was hospitalized for five days. While he was there, he got COVID-19 with his arms still in plaster, unable to follow the emergency schedule because he had to be transferred to the São José Hospital, in Duque de Caxias, for five days.
In the reassessment of his wrists, it was found that the left wrist calcified in the wrong position because it needed to be operated on the same day of the fall, but it wasn’t. Now, he needs to have surgery made by a private surgeon because there is a long waiting list for a public hospital and the surgery is urgent.
Joel worked as a tour driver and he is unemployed because of the pandemic. If he doesn't operate, he won't be able to drive anymore. The radius and ulna bones were very damaged and this causes nerves' atrophy.
According to the budget, the surgery and treatment will be around R$ 30,000 (~US$ 5,600) and he can not afford this expense; reason why we are doing this crowdfunding.
